ColourPop Ultra Metallic Lip: Review & Swatches

Recently ColourPop launched a new range of ‘Ultra Metallic Liquid Lipsticks‘ (which I’m sure were fast tracked along due to the previous success of ‘Kylie Cosmetics Metallic Lip range‘). When they were finally released I just HAD to get my hands on some…and for $6 a piece, you just couldn’t go wrong.

On the ColourPop website they are described as ‘A super intense metalized liquid lipstick that is dripping with high impact metallic pearls. This non-drying formula was created to be luxurious, smooth and leave a super comfortable feel on the lips. While the formula is not completely transfer resistant, it is extremely long wearing!’

Swatches left to right: Zebra, DM, Man Eater and Mugshot

Overall, I’m pretty impressed with this product. It is both high shine and long lasting. But I found the formula to be slightly lumpy at times and sometimes hard to work with. This can be forgiven though as obviously a product with glitter will be slightly more gritty.

But once the product is on and you are happy with it, it will last for hours! It is slightly difficult to relayer but not impossible.

The real winner here is the pigmentation, but I probably would not recommend this as a day to day lipstick…only for nights were you really want a show stopping look!

  • Ease of application: 3/5
  • Pigmentation: 5/5
  • Texture: 3/5
  • Longevity: 4/5
  • Ease of removal: 4/5
  • Cost: 5/5

These are 100% worth getting for your collection…

…After all, who doesn’t love a bit of glitter to brighten up their day
