Revlon ColourStay Creme Eyeshadow: Review & Swatch

Hey everyone! Sorry for the absence over the past week, unfortunately life got in the way…but I’m back and ready for some make-up! Today I have for you a review and swatch of Revlon’s new ColourStay Creme eyeshadows.

I popped into my local drugstore on a Sunday afternoon and instantly found myself drawn to these. I’ve noticed that I don’t have many creme eyeshadows in my collection and thought this would be perfect for a quick subtle eye look in the morning! I picked up the shade Praline (730) which is a beige/rose gold colour.

These products are described as:

“Luxurious, longwear crème eye shadow with a pro-inspired built-in-brush designed for easy, mess free application. Wears up to 24 hours.”

• Luxurious, blendable shadow
• 4 unique finishes: metallic, matte, pearl, and satin
• Up to 24 hour wear
• Built-in brush for easy, mess free application
• Waterproof
• 12 Shades

Here are some hand and eye swatches of the Shade Praline (730):

Honestly, I’ve got to say I was kind of disappointed with this product. I’m by no means saying it’s a poor product, but it just wasn’t what I was expected. The pigmentation is quite sheer, and there was quite a lot of glitter. I found it really difficult to build up the pigmentation.

As for the applicator brush? Just leave that in the case, it’s no good. My advise is to use your fingers instead for the best result.

Maybe it was just the shade Praline, but it really wasn’t doing what I wanted it to do. Positives is that it didn’t crease and was long lasting – just unfortunately not the effect I wanted. I might use this again but more as a creme base and apply shadows over the top. As a stand alone eye product, it wasn’t for me.

I’d be tempted to try one of the more darker shades to see how they compare, but for now I’m left feeling a bit disappointed.

Verdict:

  • Ease of application: 3/5
  • Pigmentation: 2/5
  • Texture: 4/5
  • Longevity: 3.5/5
  • Ease of removal: 3/5
  • Cost: 3.5/5

You can buy these online at Revlon’s website or in most drugstores for £6.99.

Let me know what you think in the comments below! I love hearing from you!

Thanks for reading, hope this has been helpful!
